CrossFit Humility Contests
“He Casually Mentioned He Did 200 Pullups While Volunteering at an Orphanage. Then He Apologized for Oversharing.”
IronSanctum Gym has rolled out a new CrossFit workout called the “Modesty WOD”–a challenge designed to push both physical endurance and performative humility to the brink.
Participants must complete complex movements while simultaneously downplaying their accomplishments. Every rep is judged not only on form, but on how many times you mention how “you’re not even that fit.”
Coach Briar encourages statements like “It’s not much, just a casual 5K before sunrise,” and “I barely sweat unless I’m rescuing pets from wildfires.”
Failure to sound self-deprecating results in a mandatory round of “Burpees of Shame.”
The final challenge is a humblebrag-off, where contestants deadlift personal trauma while listing charity runs and gluten-free soufflé records.
Winners receive a protein shake named “Virtuous Vanilla.” Losers must post a humble selfie captioned, “Grateful, not gifted.”
Auf Wiedersehen, amigos.
